We believe in the principles of cooperative where values of equality, equity and mutual self-help prevail. At the heart of these principles is the concept of human development and unity through our working together to achieve a better life for ourselves, our children an the Fil-Estate Group of Companies and as enlightened members possessing the values of saving and thrift, leading meaningful lives through the cooperative's use of credit as a instrument for human development.
In June 1992, a group of officers and employees of FIL-ESTATE GROUP OF COMPANIES met and conceived of organizing an association primarily aimed at helping themselves and others obtain credit at a low rate of interest. Thus, was born the FIL-ESTATE MULTI-LINE COOPERATIVE (FEMLC).
On June 17, 1992, fifteen (15) Cooperators signed the Articles of Cooperation and By-Laws of the Cooperative. It was formally registered as a primary, non-agricultural multi-purpose Cooperative, with the Cooperative Development Authority on August 26, 1992, under Certificate of Registration No. E-622-0110 with the original address at 10th Floor, SEC Building, EDSA Corner, Ortigas Avenue, Mandaluyong, Metro Manila.
The authorized share capital of FEMLC then was Two Million (P2,000,000) Pesos and said share capital was divided into 2,000 shares with a par value of One Thousand (P1,000) Pesos per share. Today, the total paid-up amount of 893 members is 51,592,000, while its authorized share capital was increased to P100 million.
